I've been on a knitting kick lately and I've been knitting nonstop! In the last few weeks I've made legwarmers and a backpack for Audrey's ballet class and an octopus for Jack. Audrey named the Octopus "Otto".

July
Last weekend we visited the "3 Sisters Farm" for their 100 year celebration. After touring the farm and learning about the hard work a farmer does Audrey said, "Even though it's a little smelly, I still want to be a farmer when I grow up."

Summer = Friends, Family & Fun!
Summer is off to a great start! Audrey took two weeks of swim lessons and swam like a little fish. Now she's doing four weeks of dance & art camp. They use the word "camp" very loosely because it's only 2 hours a day, 2 days a week. She's having a great time at least!
Jena, Lucas and Katelyn came for a visit at the end of June. We took them to Dugualla Farm to pick strawberries and eat ice cream... yum! We picked a lot of berries! I made jam, Lucas made a strawberry rhubarb crisp, and I froze some of the berries to use in smoothies. Oh, and of course we ate a bunch of them with chocolate fondue - my favorite way to eat fruit :)

We went to Storvik Park to give the kids some fun playtime. They had a great time! Audrey and Katelyn play very well together!

Jackson has outgrown the baby tub! This was his first time in the big boy bath! Sorry Jack, I know you'll hate this picture one day but I couldn't resist! You're just so cute!

Jack enjoys hanging out with his buddy, Morgan.
They like doing "guy" things together like crawling, hanging out with their moms, drinking milk, and trying to climb the stairs.

Audrey is all bundled up and ready to go watch the fireworks with Joe. Only in the Pacific Northwest do you need gloves, hat, scarf, and a heavy coat on the 4th of July.

Big news!!!! Audrey lost her first tooth! She has been looking forward to this day for a very long time. She considers it the first step to adulthood. She actually pulled it out all by herself! She's a brave kid!
She told me a few weeks ago that she knows the tooth fairy is just your mom putting money under your pillow. I asked her why she thinks that and she said because fairies aren't real. The kid's too smart for her own good. She still went through the motions of putting the tooth under her pillow so I could replace it with a dollar when she fell asleep. She said I'm the tooth fairy and Joe's the tooth troll... because guys can't be fairies, you see.

Cindy came for a visit this past weekend! We went to the 'Taste of LaConner' and got to try out some fabulous restaurants . LaConner is a cute little town about 20 minutes away. Before we started tasting we stopped at a hedge maze on a berry farm and barely came out of that thing alive! Joe had to do some serious navigating to get us out of there and at one point we came to a slide that we all had to go down to get to the next part of the maze - there was no staircase! You had to go down the slide and it was super fast and bumpy - not grown-up friendly! The good news is they gave out free ice cream and berries after the maze. And Audrey had a great time, of course.
We went on a Deception Pass boat tour, which was a lot of fun! The boat would go really fast to get to our next spot and then the captain would stop so the tour guide could talk. Audrey LOVED it when the boat went fast. She raised her hands like she was on a roller coaster and giggled with pure joy! I've posted a video of her at the bottom of the post.
