Christmas 2009

This photo isn't related to Christmas but she drew this on her chalkboard a week before Christmas so it's close enough:) She wrote the name of her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.
Right before Christmas break her Pre-K class had pajama day, where they all wore their pj's and decorated Christmas cookies at school. Audrey had a cold and had to miss school so we had our own pj and cookie decorating day. She was so excited that I even let her wear her pj's to the grocery store. Fortunately, she was well enough to go to school the next day, which was also a pajama day.

Christmas Eve! Time to open the stockings!

Mom flew up from Florida to spend the week with us. It was so nice to have her here with us at Christmastime!
Katie's stocking was empty this year. She's been on the naughty list for quite some time.

Audrey was kind enough to open Jackson's stocking for him and show him what was inside.

Audrey got some hoochie mama fingernails in her stocking.

She sprinkled glittery reindeer food in the driveway so the reindeer will spot our house from the sky and want to stop.

Getting the milk and cookies ready for Santa.

Christmas morning! The milk and cookies are gone and she got the scooter she asked Santa for!
She named her scooter "Sally".

Christmas morning was beautiful.

We were able to Skype with Joe so he got to watch Audrey open all of her Christmas presents.

The Levy Family Christmas. Audrey is wearing the elephant necklace that Grandma Joyce and Big Papa (my grandparents) gave her.

She got a science kit from Grandma Cindy. She had such a good time doing her "experee-ments."

Recording her scientific findings.

The Crayola Crayon Maker that I got her was missing a part so I had to return it. They are all sold out now so we decided to make crayons ourselves without a Crayon Maker. We put broken crayons in a muffin tin, melted them in the oven and - Voila! Beautiful, new homemade crayons!

December Fun

Audrey's preschool had a Christmas performance this past weekend. I wasn't able to get any good photos because Jack wanted to be jiggled the whole time and it's not easy to take good pictures while jiggling. I took a few little video clips but the files are too big to post. You'll just have to take my word that she was great! Her voice was loud and clear above the others and she did a wonderful job, especially during Deck the Halls when she went into her opera voice during falala lalala lalala. Here's a picture of her after the performance waiting to get her piece of birthday cake for Jesus.
Jack was named after a cowboy so Grand got him a cowboy outfit so he'd look the part. Jack Dempsey Prescott would have been proud!

I set him up with his activity mat but all he wants to do is watch the Army/Navy game - which Navy won! GO NAVY!

We got snow on Dec 13! It didn't show up in the pictures but it was falling when I took these. It was Audrey's first time seeing snow fall.

There are 3 deer in the background looking right at us. They looked up when they heard the baby crying.

I hope they are always this happy.

This is Audrey's self portrait. No wall damage... she made it with Wiki Stix, which is removable.

Reading her brother a bedtime story.

Jackson looks so cute in his little winter bunting. I bought it big so it'll last all winter. He needed this for the cold mornings when we take Audrey to school. We've had temps in the 20's this past week. Brrrrrr.

Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday we went to the Anacortes Senior Center for breakfast with Santa. For $3 we got pancakes, sausage, coffee, oj, a photo with Santa, got to decorate cookies and a Christmas card, and got to see ballerinas performing dances from the Nutcracker. I love a bargain! Audrey had a wonderful time and we saw several of her friends there.
As you can see, Jackson wasn't afraid of Santa at all. Audrey asked for a scooter for Christmas, which is good because "Santa" has a scooter in the trunk of her car:)

When we got home I snapped a few pictures of the kids in front of the tree. After meeting Santa they were in an especially good mood!

Thanksgiving 2009

Dad and Carolyn flew up from Florida to spend Thanksgiving with us. It was so wonderful to have them here! We had a great time and made some terrific memories. We all have so much to be thankful for. It was their first time meeting Jackson.

He holds onto that paci, even in his sleep.

Audrey made a little craft for her daddy.

Papa Wayne was so happy to be able to hold his grandchildren.

I had no desire to make Thanksgiving dinner so I made reservations instead! We ate at The Majestic Inn. It was delicious!

Spelling words with Grandmama Carolyn.

Yes, he is spoiled.

Soo Bahk Do

Audrey came home from school one day a couple weeks ago and announced that she wanted to do karate. I have no idea how she got the idea other than that we recently saw Kung Fu Panda. I signed her up for Soo Bahk Do, a Korean martial art. She loves it!

Our silly dog

A week ago Katie decided to go for a little walk around the neighborhood all by herself. I loaded the kids in the car and drove around looking for her but couldn't find her anywhere. She was missing all weekend but on Monday I got a call from Animal Control saying they had picked her up not far from our house and she was safe and sound. It was a very happy reunion!

This morning Katie tripped when she was coming up the steps into the house and ripped one of her toenails off. I couldn't get the bleeding to stop so I had to take her to the emergency vet to get stitches. You can tell by the look on her face how much she enjoyed that.
